You may pass a small green space every week without ever entering it. The route is so familiar that the park becomes part of the background.

On a day with room to spare, take a look at the entrance and the paths. Check opening times, access and whether the route returns conveniently to your journey. A small park can be a useful stop even if it offers only one short path and a place to sit.

Leave enough time that the visit does not create a hurried finish. If the detour makes the whole trip stressful, save it for another day or use a nearer entrance.

There is no requirement to walk every path. A brief circuit or a pause beside a tree can be the entire visit. The value comes from making use of a place already within reach, rather than waiting until you can organize an afternoon somewhere more impressive.
